Ingredients
- 1/2 cup (1 stick) unsalted butter, softened
- 1/2 cup brown sugar, packed
- 1/4 cup granulated sugar
- 1 large egg
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1 1/4 cups all-purpose flour
- 1/2 teaspoon baking soda
- 1/4 teaspoon salt
- 1 cup semisweet chocolate chips
Directions
- Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
- In a medium bowl, cream together butter, brown sugar, and granulated sugar until smooth.
- Beat in egg and vanilla until combined.
- Stir in flour, baking soda, and salt until just blended.
- Fold in chocolate chips.
- Drop tablespoonfuls of dough onto the prepared baking sheet, spacing about 2 inches apart.
- Bake for 8–10 minutes, or until edges are lightly golden.
- Cool on the baking sheet for 2 minutes, then transfer to a wire rack to cool completely.
Notes
- For crispier cookies, bake 1–2 minutes longer.
- Add 1/2 cup chopped nuts for extra crunch.
